2 injured in crash at Nebraska intersection

On Behalf of | May 3, 2018 | Truck Accidents

When people come across intersections, the best thing they can do is to slow down and look both ways, even if they have a green light. There are too many instances where people have run red lights or taken a corner too soon and realized that they were in the path of oncoming traffic.

The majority of crashes are avoidable if people pay attention and avoid getting distracted behind the wheel. Take for example a crash that occurred recently in Nebraska. The crash has no known cause presently, but it potentially may have been avoided with precautions in place.

On May 2, two people were hurt when their vehicles collided at a South Lincoln Avenue intersection. According to the news, both drivers had to be taken to York General Hospital for injuries. The injuries were reported as serious but weren’t expected to be life-threatening.

The news reports that the two vehicles, an SUV and pickup truck, were both found in ditches after the collision. The pickup had flipped onto its top, while the SUV had significant damage to its front end. The Nebraska State Patrol, York Police Department and York Fire and Rescue Department deployed to the scene at around 8:40 a.m. Presently, the investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.

If you’re hit in an intersection, know that you’re not alone in dealing with your injuries. You can seek compensation from the party that hit you, even if he or she is also hurt. It’s your right to obtain compensation if you’ve been hurt because of another person’s negligence.
